WASTING LIVES AND MONEY

This is amazing. I read today on the Huffington Post that we, the good old USA, are giving away billions of dollars worth of military bases and equipment that we are going to leave behind in Iraq.

Why do the Tea Party types and other right-wing Republicans not complain about this huge waste of money?

They bitch and moan about Social Security and welfare, but God forbid we should question the right of America to invade a foreign country and kill innocent people.

Tell me, what did we really accomplish in Iraq?

We have sacrificed thousands of American lives and killed perhaps as many as 500,000 Iraqi civilians, according to some estimates. Ex-President George W. Bush said in one speech that we had killed more than 30,000 Iraqis.

To what end? To bring democracy? Ha. What a joke. Does that country look like a functioning democracy to you?

Is this part of American exceptionalism? We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, and to kill anyone we don't like?

What a crock of U-know what.

It breaks my heart. I can't stand to read the obituaries of American men and women who are still giving their lives in this illegal and immoral war. Money and lives down the drain.
