JAMES JOYCE'S BIRTHDAY

Let us all sing a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday to you, to James Joyce, born Feb. 2, 1882.

He was probably the greatest writer in the English language in the 20th Century. Perhaps the greatest since Shakespeare.

Here's a toast to James Joyce: Let all of us strive to be as great in our fields of endeavor as you were in yours.

You showed us the way, I just hope we can follow.

I'd love to hear your reasons for why James Joyce is so great. I hear this all the time and I just don't get it. I don't get Emily Dickinson's genius, either. Help me.
